Dutch board game designer launches double board game Innovation Awards are awarded every year in six different categories during Europe’s biggest Toy Fair in Nurnberg, Germany. “Crazy Diamond & Karatino” is nominated in two different categories. In partnership with Spezet Puzzle Productions (ie: Fame, Color-It), dutch board game designer Bas Kesting\'s company Spel-Maker gets the chance to present their board games at the Nurnberg Toy Fair. The nomination itself is based on the unique playing board. Beside the excellent design, the double-sided, star-shaped game board is what makes Crazy Diamond & Karatino truly unique. "Karatino is the upgraded version of \'Diamantino\', one of our first games, and Crazy Diamond is its logical counterpart. In Crazy Diamond, the players collect as many diamonds as possible, using different types of transport and blocking each other on the way. In Karatino, the players try to polish and sell as much diamonds as possible, at the right time.” says Kesting. “Due to the playing board both games can be played seperately or as one, but I never expected it to be considered such an innovation", concludes the baffled \'game-maker\'. The double-sided board offers great chances for further innovative development, as will be shown on the Nurnberg fair itself. Here, visitors are able to admire a demo of the all new \'Towers of Babylon\' in which the game board slowly evolves to its final form. You can watch this demo and ‘Crazy Diamond & Karatino’ during the Nurnberg Fair |
