Bling game teaches youth how to manage money

UTRECHT. Wants youngsters playfully learn to deal with money bling game. Today presenting Game Maker and Province of Utrecht this game as part of a project to prevent debt. Especially pre-vocational students are to do with the game and its guest lectures by business people. The project was set up by the province of Utrecht. Projektleider Esther Slinkman:”Research by NIBUD shows that young people from secondary school, often tempted to incur debt. At these schools, it is important that through the game, students learn how to deal with temptations have the best deal.” Although the name “Bling Game” suggests otherwise, it is not a computer but a classic board game. “We have deliberately chosen because there you have to play this together. If one player wants to buy an expensive mobile phone, may have a different zeggem; that you should not do it dude, so you never get out of debt! And that is exactly what, that young people also correct each other.”

Three students of the College in Utrecht X11 contributed to the process. Stephanie van der Linden: “I found it very nice to work with. I think it appeals to young people. It also put me to thinking even though I have no debts.” Game Maker Bas Kesting: ” The player can choose which way he walks; he can choose CWI, agency or university, but also more expensive roads as holiday, winkelcentrum of Casino. Players receive cards debt as borrowing money or spending money they way they do not have. Should the player in debt are therefore the game offers opportunities to get out of debt again. The winner is the player with the most diamonds.
